Fig. XL.
A composition of bold fragments over dense technobabble drawings completed in October 2020. The silver and copper figure in the center reflects my feelings of both claustrophobia and isolation from pandemic fatigue of late summer 2020. The early lockdown of New York City was replaced with civic unrest and pre-election uncertainty amid deepening recession. This painting is the culmination of 15 months of work during which my studio practice continued through major societal and personal struggle. It is the only painting which records both the detailed linework of 2019 to the bolder fragments developed later.
